Around 1602, Montgomery County units were dispatched for a reported vehicle fire around mile marker 22 on the Northbound side of the 309 bypass. The vehicle was being towed behind a tow truck and finally came to a stop at the Bethlehem Pike merger at Route 309 in the Station 27 local. Engine 27-1 arrived to extinguish the fully involved car.



At 2325 hours, Stations 26 and 76 from the Perkasie Fire Company were alerted to the 1500 block of West Rock Road in East Rockhill Township for the reported dwelling fire. The inital caller reported the wood stove being on fire with another caller reporting a house on fire. Pennridge Regional Police arrived first on scene to report a well involved house. Engine 27-1 and Wagon 27 were just clearing an accident call on the 309 Bypass and were added to the assignment. The Engine was assigned to the dump site while the Wagon was assigned the Tanker fill site. SFD units flowed water for 3 hours and filled a total of 13 Tanker loads of water.




At 0209 hours, Tactical Box 27-26 was transmitted for a reported camper fire in the 1000 block of Anna Lane in West Rockhill Township. The inital report was called in by a neighbor reporting hearing an explosion and a camper being fully involved. Utility and Engine 27-1 arrived on scene to confirm the report of a 24’ camper fully involved. The Utility (Chief 27) took command while Engine 27-1 stretched an 1” 3/4 smoothbore hand line to extinguish the fire. Tanker 58 supplied Engine 27-1 with water and assisted with overhaul. Ladder 18 and Wagon 27 stoodby in manpower.



At 0020 hours, Station 27 was dispatched for a reported chimney fire off of Orchard Road in Hilltown Township. The caller was reporting that the fireplace and house was filling with smoke. The Wagon and Tower arrived simultaneously and sent their crew to the interior and the roof. The fire box was cleaned out and a small fire was found that the Tower’s crew handled by droppong chains down the chimney liner. The house was then turned over to the homeowner who was advised to contact a chimney sweep.


Northbound 309 Car Fire

During the rush hour commute, Station 27 was dispatched for a reported car fire on the northbound side of the 309 bypass. Battalion 26 was first to arrive and reported the fire to be in the northbound lanes just before Rich Hill Road in West Rockhill Township. Wagon 27 arrived shortly after to make a quick knock of the fire. Engine 27-1, Utility 27, and Rescue 26 assisted as well.



Outbuilding Fire in West Rockhill

On Tuesday morning around 0103 hours, Station 27 along with Tanker 58 (Trumbauersville) were dispatched to 2500 block of Old Bethlehem Pike for a tactical box reported to be an outbuilding fire.  Pennridge Regional Police arrived on scene to find a shed fully involved with extension to a camper parked next to the shed.  Bucks Radio advised to add two additional Tankers (Montco Tanker 72 Tylersport and Tanker 36 Richlandtown) as well as the next due Engine (Rescue 26 Perkasie) to the assignment per Assistant 27.  Assistant Chief (Conicelli) arrived on scene confirming the Police report with a 15 by 20 shed and a 18’ camper fully involved.  Engine 27 and Tanker 58 arrived on scene and pulled (2) 2.5” attack lines to extinguish the fire.  Engine 27-1 and Tanker 36 supplied Engine 27.  Rescue 26 and Montco Tanker 72 stood by until released by Command.  The fire was brought under control within 8 minutes from the arrivals of Engine 27 and Tanker 58.

Wagon Goes to Perkasie

At 1308 hours, Station 26 was dispatched to a reported truck fire in the 100 block of south 5th Street. Police arrived to find a porta potty truck with fire from the engine compartment. The Wagon arrived and pulled the 200’ bumper line as Rescue 26 made the knock. No extension was made to the waste storage tank.


Southbound Accident

Before Engine 27-1 headed to the Southampton Fire Company to cover during their banquet, Rescue Box 27-78 was dispatched for a reported auto extrication in the Southbound lanes of the 309 bypass. BCR received numerous phone calls reporting that 2 vehicles were dragging racing and that one of them rolled over with people trapped inside.  Chief 27 went on scene and found there was no extrication, and held to assignment to Station 27 apparatus and Rescue 26 to control the hazards.
