Chris Simpson from FAST Rescue Solutions was at Station 27 last night for a demonstration on our new FAST Rescue Board. The new board will be an additional resource for our Rapid Intervention Team, to remove injured/unconscious firefighters from hazardous areas. The board can also be used to rescue and recover civilians in tight situations, or areas with limited accessibility.

Many SFD volunteers were able to train with the rescue board on Tuesday night. Silverdale Fire Co joined us to check out the system and move a victim up and down stairs. As with much of our equipment, we're proud to have it, and hope we never need to use it!
