At 11:44 PM on Thursday, November 2nd, Station 27 was dispatched to the report of a vehicle fire at a business in the 4800 block of Bethlehem Pike in West Rockhill Township. While enroute to the location, the assignment was upgraded to a building fire due to the vehicle's close proximity to the building. Rescue 27 arrived to find a pickup truck with flames from the engine compartment and cab. The crew pulled the 1-3/4" bumper line to start extinguishing the blaze. Assistant 27 and Chief 27 determined there was no extension into the building, and scaled the assignment down to SFD apparatus, Montgomery County Engine 75 from Telford and Rescue 26 from Perkasie. The manpower from Utility 27 and the additional apparatus worked to spread oil dry in the parking lot in the area of the vehicle that was on fire. SFD fire police and officers from Pennridge Regional Police were also at the scene to assist. All units were clear from the scene at 00:31.
