July 16, 2022

At 3:02 am on Saturday, July 16th, Sellersville volunteers were alerted to the report of a building fire at the Sunoco station in the 900 block of Lawn Avenue in West Rockhill Township. The fire was reported by a passing Pennridge Regional police officer, who noticed smoke coming from the roofline.

Wagon 27 laid in from a nearby hydrant, while Chief, Deputy, and Assistant 27 filled out the command structure. Crews encountered fire and dense smoke in a portion of the building set up as a convenience store. Sellersville crews were assisted by Perkasie, Telford, Souderton, West End (Quakertown), Trumbauersville, and Montgomery Township. Hatfield and Quakertown #1 provided coverage at our station in the event additional manpower was needed, or another incident occurred in the area. Units were gradually released, and the scene was cleared around 5:00 am.

The fire was determined to be caused by an electrical issue, and no injuries were reported.
